Orbits Lightwave manufacture robust, low noise and ultra stable fibre lasers. Founded in 1999, Orbits Lightwave Inc. uses a range of technologies, both licensed and developed in-house with assistance from NASA and DARPA, to offer lasers that demonstrate unprecedented levels of stability and reliability under demanding industrial or military conditions. Their fibre lasers are housed in hermetically-sealed athermal packages that minimise frequency drift with respect to temperature and dispense with the need for energy consuming temperature control. This novel packaging technology also greatly reduces susceptibility to shock and vibration.
