and Far East companies. In addition, we manufacture
our own range of opto-mechanical components which
are marketed under the Elliot/Martock brand name.
Martock Design Ltd has been engaged in the design,
development and manufacture of high precision instruments
and equipment for the scientific and industrial
communities since 1973, and became a wholly owned
subsidiary of Elliot Scientific in 2003. The Elliot/Martock
own brand products include fibre positioning components,
waveguide manipulators, automated alignment systems,
micropositioners, ultra-fast pulse measurement instruments
and optical tweezer systems for distribution worldwide.
We are also able to supply custom optomechanical
and optical components to your specifications.

government agencies and industry - are provided
with the highest level of service backed up by solid
technical support from our team of qualified scientists.

Elliot Scientific Founder's Background
 We were founded in 1990 by Mike Elliot, a well known laser industry leader, who had previously served in roles such as Managing Director and founder of Newport Ltd (1986-1990) and Sales Manager for Spectra-Physics Ltd in the UK (1979-1986).
Mike has a number of qualifications including a BSc Honours Degree in Applied Chemistry, specialising in instrumentation. In 2000 he undertook and completed the "Business Growth Programme" at Cranfield University School of Management, in 2001-02 he completed the "Value Forum" at the same establishment. He is a Corporate Associates Director of the OSA, a member of the SPIE Corporate and Exhibitor Committee and an active member of the UK Photonics Cluster.
