The advanced RS-7 SpectraLED™ light source offers the finest and most versatile controlled light energy technology available, while standard light sources based on tungsten-halogen lamps offer more affordable solutions. All Gamma Scientific calibrated light sources are traceable to the National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST).

RS-7 SpectralLED™ Tuneable Light Sources

The new SpectralLED™ tuneable light sources from Gamma Scientific combine the output of 32 discrete LEDs - each having a different centre wavelength - to produce output that can be programed to closely match virtually any illuminant source or the spectrum of any illuminant reflected by a target.

Offering substantially longer calibrated and stable lifetimes than tungsten sources, the RS-7 series SpectralLED™ Tuneable LED Light Sources can sweep through wavelengths to simulate a scanning monochromator, but with the advantage of no moving parts.

In addition to good spectral resolution and accuracy, the SpectralLED™ is about 10x brighter than any competitive product. This allows measurements over a much larger, linear dynamic range, and is sufficient to illuminate virtually any detector at levels up to saturation.

The SpectralLED™ uses highly stabilised DC drive current circuitry to vary output luminance, rather than pulse width modulation (PWM). This is critical when testing high speed silicon detectors which can easily time resolve PWM signals. Consequently, the RS-7 is ideal for wafer level testing of CCD and CMOS sensors and a turnkey RS-7-4 drop-in model has been developed for existing image sensor testers from manufacturers such as Teradyne and National Instruments. It can also be readily adapted for custom instrumentation built to test head manipulators and handlers.

RS-10 Calibration Light Source

Precision source of radiant flux, used primarily to calibrate light measuring instrumentation and as a stimulus to measure detection devices. Near-constant radiant flux output is achieved via exclusive use of tungsten-halogen lamps. Ultra-stable, constant-current supplies utilise precision shunt-current measurement and comparison circuits built into the source housing.

RS-12 Calibration Light Source

Versatile, NIST-traceable calibration light source that can be used as a white-light standard of spectral radiance or luminance. Filter/aperture assembly allows the RS-12 to be employed as an NVIS display simulation source for approximating a green cockpit display, with optimal near-infrared output against which a spectroradiometer or radiometer can be calibrated.

RS-14 Uniform Light Source System

The RS-14 is built for test applications requiring uniform radiance, making it ideal in applications where this is critical for device testing or calibration. Delivering superior output stability thanks to its constant current power supply, radiance and luminance output can be set throughout the unit's whole range. In addition, output port sizes and sphere configurations can be customised.

RS-15 Total Flux Calibration Light Source

Gamma Scientific’s RS-15 total flux calibration light source is a precision source of total radiant flux, used primarily to calibrate integrating spheres, light measuring instrumentation and as a stimulus to measure detection devices. Lamps are available from 5 to 200 W.

RS-50 Projection Source

Model 5000 Standard Lamp

Provides absolute calibration of spectral irradiance from 250 nm to 2.5 microns. This tungsten-halogen lamp standard bears the ANSI designation of FEL. It is calibrated to the 2000 NIST spectral irradiance scale.
