Vescent has been developing low-SWaP fibre lasers for deployed applications, offering a variety of custom packaging options and control electronics to meet the most demanding requirements.

FO-100 Fibre Oscillator
 - Designed for performance

The FO-100 oscillator is the core piece of equipment for femtosecond oscillator and frequency comb experiments. Built around an Erbium-doped fibre, it can deliver sub-100 fs pulses with a bandwidth of over 40 nm, given an appropriate pump input and thermal control loops (not included).

It also features Vescent's unique PZT-based cavity length adjustment tool, that can deliver >100 Hz of fine control over the repetition rate with an appropriate user-supplied signal. Combined with coarse temperature tuning and factory centreing, the repetition rate can be precisely determined. for example, matching the repetition rates of two oscillators for dual-comb spectroscopy is possible.

MLO-100 Mode Locked Oscillator
 - Designed for ease of use


Vescent’s MLO-100 Mode Locked Oscillator is a stand-alone femtosecond laser designed for high performance and ease of use. Built around the FO-100, it incorporates an EDFA, mode-locker, pump diodes, current sources, temperature controller, and the requisite drive electronics and user interface.

The MLO-100’s combination of touch screen interface and rotary controller makes for simple set up and operation. Modulation and control of the pump power, as well as fast (via PZT) and slow (via temperature) tuning of the repetition rate, mark the MLO-100 out as the ideal engine for your frequency comb development. The slow integrator controlling the precise temperature set point allows long-term repetition rate locking when combined with the fast PZT loop.
